| The Moody Gardens Golf Course, in Galveston, Texas, will open it's doors on June 2nd, 2008. The course features wind blown dunes, swaying palms, jagged-edged bunkers, colorful flowers and native grasses that will provide sensory stimulation at every turn. The course now offers a full-sized driving range and short-game practice area, which should be a big hit among the regular local-golfing contingent and resort guests alike. This level of amenity was previously non-existent. What made them possible was a complete re-routing of the first five holes. All of the improvements, made during the complete re-construction of the golf course, were aimed at providing considerable protection from potential coastal flooding while crafted to seamlessly blend a traditional links style course into the windswept features which dominate this environment sandwiched between the Gulf of Mexico and Sydnor Bayou. |
