Rex VanHoose joined the Jacobsen Hardy Golf Course Design team in 2001 after spending seven years working as a project superintendent for Rausch Golf Construction and a design associate for both Keith Foster Golf Course Design and Lohmann Golf Designs. As senior vice president/managing architect for Jacobsen Hardy, VanHoose is responsible for management of the JH design team, and is involved in each project JH undertakes from the initial contract negotiations through construction completion and follow up.VanHoose graduated from Texas Tech University with a BLA in 1995. After being awarded the Mobile Land Development Scholarship, he began his study of golf course design through the creation and completion of a series of 'special projects courses' in golf course architecture.
Since entering the field of course design, VanHoose has gained a wealth of project experience in both the renovation and new course realms, and has engaged in all aspects of golf course design from the initial routing phase and development of detailed construction documents to the preparation of construction budgets and schedules. His golf course construction background allows him to make important field decisions in a timely manner, which is critical to all JH projects in terms of protecting the client's investment.
